So I'm going through all the motors I have that haven't been started in at least 6 years, I've gotten 4 motors stripped down cleaned oiled and back together, I came across my old Blue OS 46LA, picked it up in some sort of trade if I remember correctly, anyhow it had some pretty bad castor oil cooked on the paint, mostly on the cooling fins.
I knew the paint was finished so I soaked it in acetone for a while and started scrubbing it with a wire brush, I couldn't get all the blue paint off so I said screw it and repainted the motor in this heavy duty red paint I use at work, this is super high dollar paint, more expensive then automotive paints. so it should hold up very nicely, it can handle temps around 300 degrees, I've always wanted to paint a motor red like this, should look sweet when it's done, the crankcase is still at work, it needs to be cooked in the oven before I can bring it home, I do have the head though.
should I paint the inside of the square outside of the O And S?
