Well I'm one of those guys over here in SPA's biggest hotbed of activity in DFW Texas. We have a small but very dedicated group of pilots here. But i don't see the growth or intensity that it had a few years ago. I finished 3rd in SPA west this year, but there were only 6 competitors who posted points. That's not exactly a national sport.
I think we will see a few more pilots this year. Several of my fellow club members have gotten the itch and may catch the bug.
Our event is scheduled for May 20th. here in Grand Prairie. We will also be hosting the now deleted Intro class. I feel it is the best way to attract new pilots who want to try it out.
I really didn't understand SPA's reason for doing away with it.
