I don't think the T82 would be that difficult. It looks like the lower hull is the same as the pershing, so it would mainly be a lot of work to the upper, but it's all pretty simple shapes, mostly tubes and boxes, so probably the hardest part of all would be the research. You'd want to get as many photos and drawings as you can collect to see where everything goes, but I really think it would be a lot easier than it first appears. You also would have the advantage of this forum. I'm sure a lot of guys would want to contribute, and just Rex Ross alone would be a wealth of info if he likes the project enough to help out. The T92 would be a real bear, since it has a stretched chassis and seven roadwheels on each side, not to mention all that bulldozer blade stuff at the back, but the T82 looks like it would be much simpler. I think this is one I might want to put on the to-do list (man, that's one long list) and maybe someday I'll get around to it. It would be great if you do it first, kinda like breakin' trail.

But if you want to stick with a more traditional tank, I've learned that 800 M-26 Pershings were converted to M-47 Pattons with 90mm guns, so maybe that might be a better idea. Or maybe the variant with the 105mm howitzer? They made a bunch of variants, but most of them look very much alike because all the changes were internal and are hard to see. Any way it goes, I'll be watching with interest to see where you take this.
