I like everything your doing, however the foil thing scares me a little. Especially over fiberglass, I used foil on a project a few years back and it is difficult to work with. It just takes time and patience and did I mention patience? The only tip I would offer is that I found success applying foil using a plastic credit card to smooth it as I was applying. And of course your fiberglass surface has to be super smooth because it shows every little flaw.
That is just me though, your efforts so far are commendable. It looks great.
