Also skip, wanted to mention that tamiya electronics do NOT support airsoft but you'll be IR compatible to battle out of the box with the additional battle system. The safe bet is to go entry level airsoft so you can have your 2 tanks without getting in too deep with the wallet. If you and your son think IR battling is something you want to explore you can then upgrade and mod together down the road. I've never been a fan of airsoft and only do IR so in my opinion and budget isn't an issue, grab a Tamiya sherman and a Tamiya Tiger 1. 2 Radios, 2 battle systems some batts and a charger and have at it!!
