I use an air brush to do the overlap of colors. I think it represents the over-spray of the full scale spray guns nicely.



I'm using War Bird Colors paints on this one. Sprays well, dries fast, and cleans up with water, and they are very accurate.

I use the military color #s instead of trying to match colors to pictures. You can look at 10 different full scale pictures and every one can look different depending on the angles to the lighting, the camera that took them, and the method of printing. A LOT of variables there.

I do use pictures for the shape of the overlays, locations of insignias, and other markings, just not colors.

I never use pictures of models to build models.
