Thanks! Yeah, I did some more research and found that ESCs are usually for AC motors. i did not know that these RC Car motors worked on AC.
The connection diagram that I referenced shows a servo directly connected to the Fly Sky Rx. What would happen if I connected the Rx directly to the brushed DC motor?
Hmmm... thinking about this question. A servo needs a supply voltage, plus a pulse to move the shaft. The Rx provides these three. A DC motor needs two lines to provide power to the motor to make it move. PWM could be used to control the motor's speed, but not direction unless the polarity was inverted. Looks like a direct hookup would not work. Again, thanks for your help. I'll look into the eBay item that you referenced. Sagav
