I've been looking at the DLE20RA also for a Super Aeromaster I'm wanting to build. All things indicate it weighs less then an OS 1.20... that's including muffler on both engines, as well as the ignition module on the DLE. The only thing I didn't factor in was the ignition battery for the DLE.... of which is probably a few ounces for a good LiFe cell.

I was pretty surprised until I took a real hard look at the DLE. It's a much leaner looking engine then the 1.20 glow. That OS Surpass is a monster.

So yeah... do the math... and check the weights...as it's not as bad as some think. Tower's site has weight info on both engines, as well as the components. I'm starting to think it just makes more sense these days to go with the gas rigs... not to mention... the DLE20RA is going for about 285 with muffler/ign. and the OS1.20 was at $449 bucks... I just noticed the OS 1.20(no pump) is discontinued also...

I say do it... make it work... and you'll be pleased. I think it would go very nicely in the P-47. I'm about ready to order one up right now myself.
