As to my rebuild from the season ending cartwheel. I repaired all the damage, and built a new rudder. Got it covered and all painted. Began working on a new sign for our flying field
when Snoopy spotted the Triplane and attacked! The sign fell over and landed.....yep....right on the tail end of the Triplane. Smashed it flat. I hate that dog! So I rebuilt the tail section again, this time a complete rebuild. New rudder ( again) new elevators, new everything. Covered and repainted.
The sign was put into another room for the rebuild. Yippiee! All done. Clean up the work bench and watch an exacto knife roll off ( Can you see where this is headed?) the bench and punch straight thru the new Horizontal Stab. I could have cried. But I guess the full size planes had a patch or two on them. If I had a glass case big enough, I would put it over the DRI. I can't wait to get out to the flying field where its safe.
