If your SC4-18 is the brushless model, the ESC will allow you to set the LVC for LiPo use. I am pretty sure the 2 in 1 receiver/speed control, in the brushed SC4-18, has no LVC. If you want to deal with drumming up a low voltage alarm and connector issue, that's fine. If it were me and I thought I was getting a NiMh battery, I'd want the correct battery that was suppose to be with the Dromida SC.
