I too doubt that you will not have harmed the engine.
I bought my 200 ti in a P51 too. The previous owner hated it because it kept dropping a cylinder, and causing emergency landings.
It was because he had not done a proper run in procedure. Don't be impatient, it will be a peach after a couple of gallons of fuel have gone through it.
They take a loooong time to break in fully.I bolted mine to a 120 Ultrastick for the run in , which makes it much less stressful when it does drop a cylinder.
Ok I think I might be fine too now. I contact the guy and he said he did not know. It even know if it had been ran. I ran it around 6500 rpm for about 15-20 min and yes the rear dropped a few times
. I also checked the valve lash last night and it was about .12mm so I put I into spec at .08mm but now it wants to run backwards so I a going to open it back up to .10mm. Thanks for the feedback...
