Don't VW do a similar van to the MB, think in the UK its called a Crafter, also big vans from Fiat, Citroen etc but not sure I would trust the engineering.

You could finance a new one, not always the best 'use' of cash but do you need it forever, and a new one would give you all the warranty etc to give you piece of mind - just a thought.
