My kit came with a metal motor mount back in 1983 when I built it; had a 40 size engine then even though it called for something less but I have changed engines several times - now using a Magnum XL 52. When I first built it, I had to add a lot of weight to the nose - an old 12 volt battery post cut in half, one half on each side of the engine.
