It's almost impossible to put the prop on backwards as they are spring-loaded to fold against the fuselage.
Does the prop/motor spin freely by hand?
Did you have a crash ?
Without more info, my guess is that your battery is failing. Even though it charges up and reads 4.2 volts it probably doesn't have the discharge quality anymore to deliver the power required to fly the plane.
