For several years the DLE ignitions have come with a tag stating the engine they were supposed to be used with. I was told by a reliable source the various ignitions had slightly different advance curves and of course there was the horrible A-01 #4 that came with early 20 that had the problem causing quick step curve. Other than cap configurations, I have interchanged the various ignitions with no noticable performance differences. The exception being the early A-01 #4 that is pretty worthless for some applications. Later A-02 #4 ignitions seem to have a normal curve. So there may be differences in the various ignitions but I can't detect them.

On a different note, I've grown to like the performance of the RCXP / RCAME ignitions sold by Milton at RC Extreme Power. These have a bit quicker advance curve along with a hotter spark that produces a quicker responding engine.
