I decided to go with the screw that came with the plane. However, I added a "boot" to the screw that allows me to attached the screw to the hex driver. I used a short piece of heat shrink tubing as shown in the attachment. Works like a charm.

Great, I did loose one screw not having a boot.....but I always have a spare box of small parts...
