Default RE: Exhaust for a Kyosho 46VR with OS50SX engine?

Hi there!

I have a concept 46 VR with an OS50SX and a Zimmerman muffler, they make one especially for the 46 VR so i has the exhaust port parallel to the length of the muffler. The muffler is made of stainless steel as all zimmermans and it producer a lot of power an a wonderful sound.

Stainless steel may sound heavier than aluminum but there is really no big difference since you nee a lot less material when you use steel.

There is one small problem when you combine this muffler with the OS50SX the muffler is made for the 46 which has a different carburetor. on the OS50SX the post (not sure what to call it but i hope you understand what i mean) for the throttle arm is a bit (about 1-2 mm) too long the throttle arm therefor hits the big zimmerman muffler. The fix is relatively easy you can shorten the throttle post a bit or (like i do) use a gasket between the engine and the muffler which increases the distance between the two thus allowing room for the throttle arm. I also put the ball link on the inside of the arm towards the engine but I don't think that is necessary.

In spite of this little problem I can really recommend the zimmerman muffler it has a big volume so the power from th engine is awesome compared to the small standard muffler not that you really need it the 46 VR may be an old design but its a !QUOT!pocket rocket!QUOT! right out of the box.

If you want i can take some pictures of the muffler and engine combination an post them here as soon as i get home from work.
