TBO the rustler is not the best basher... Its from a time when stadium trucks were popular and people loved the idea of 2wd racing... Its predecessors were very competitive back in the day, but with all the changes to the rc world they are really lacking... Honestly it will be marginally better than ur 2wd slash on a track but worse when bashing.

I honestly think u would have more luck with the slash 4x4 .... Chuck some 1/8 buggy wheels, body and wing on it... LCG chassis and a Better ESC
