In the region where I live the water slows down the boats a lot. Example I have read that people get 48 to 50 on GPS with a stock traxxas spartan on 6s. In my area a stock spartan will do around 35 on GPS. That the exceed shark 2 I saw somewhere does 30mph on 3s. Where I live 22 to 23mph is what you will get. I am just showing you the video of my run. You probably might remember the 05 modified car motors. I still have a trinity d5 14turn. The d5 will push the shark in the video to 15 to 16mph max with a decent 4200 nimh 6 cell pack. So for a better comparison that boat was doing 27mph and if I was using a typical setup like reedy ti or similar type 05 car motor on 6 good nimhs I would be getting around 15 or 16mph at best.
