Since the 900Mhz link still won't do anything until the 2.4Ghz link completely fails 900Mhz usefulness seems very limited for any sort of interference related issue. At this point it certainly doesn't seem that it will provide seamless fail-over in a high interference environment and the only user I know of that has had it become active said he could clearly tell that he had no control before it took over.
