At this point it certainly doesn't seem that it will provide seamless fail-over in a high interference environment and the only user I know of that has had it become active said he could clearly tell that he had no control before it took over.
You have to look at this from 2 different point of views:
1) You want something (900) if the environment is to problematic for 2.4GHz, otherwise your model is history. Little bit of delay is better than splinters and large fireball.
2) This is all based on software. If community (Us/Jeti/Danny/Wayne...) discovers better way you are only firmware update from better solution.
