Hi all,
A quick update on the 200cdi. I have approximately 80 flights on mine now.I think there were at least 11 competitors flying YS (Cyprus, China and Turkey are not included in the earlier list) and 1 flying a DLE35 (impressive).4 flew the 200cdi in Argentina – Myself, Onda, Cedric and CPLR. All flying low oil content 30% fuel.- The engine is very reliable.
- The regulator is more difficult to tune than the 185cdi. In practice my engine cut in the spins. This is a symptomatic of a rich setting. I leaned the pump 1/8th of a turn then Mr Yamada came over and leaned it a further ½ turn. It ran perfectly from then on.
- Cedric had engine spluttering. He changed the plug and ignition with no improvement. Mr Yamada then pointed to the Power box switch. He changed that and the engine ran perfect. This is in line with what I stated earlier in the thread. So maybe a separate line directly from the battery is the way to go.
- I have found with the 185 and now the 200 that the power transfer to the prop results in more frequent prop slippage. The new 185 tru turn adapter that fits into the prop is the way to go on this. Bigger surface area and a much better system.
It’s a great engine.
