Guys.... I have several ESM plane's and all of them fly well. Yes..... ESM plane's come out heavy. Why? Because the fuselage are all fiberglass compared to lighter balsa wood. That means the tail moment has more leverage over the CG location then a plane built of balsa.
It's a trade off for pretty darn accurate scale outlines in most cases.
I have TWO 73" Me109s. Both are excellent planes and no issues at all with the alignment or anything else as someone was stating earlier.
These are the ESM planes I have...
1) 73" Me109 - saito 180 - sierra giant retracts
2) 73" Me109 - electric power 110 8s - esm air retracts
3) 71" P51B - electric 110 8s - esm air retracts
4) 71" FW190a - saito 180 - sierra retracts... Plane weighs 19.5 pounds and flies wonderful
5) 75" F4U1a Corsair - saito 170 radial - sierra retracts
6) 95" ME110 - electric twin power 60s - esm air retracts
7) 95" B25 - electric twin power 160s on 10s - sierra retracts
8) Dornier 335 - electric 65cc front, power 60 rear. Esm air retracts.. Plane weighs 37 pounds... Flies well
9) 88" ME109g - 65cc electric on 12s - sierra retracts
10) 83" FW190D9 - 65cc electric on 12s - sierra retracts...the heavier it is, the better this one flies... It's at 24 pounds.

All of them require nose weight. The CGs are questionable. Always tend to go more nose heavy then the manual....but best bet is to read through threads about specific planes here on rcu to get the exact CG that's working.

My 83" FW190 D9 was listed at 155mm, but it's set at 143 and still floats forever trying to land. I added more weight and it lands better now.

ESM are not throw it together in a week like Top Flite or Hangar 9. However, they are excellent looking planes and with some work, come out as fantastic fliers.
Change out the hardware like pushrods, etc

Not one of the 10 ESM plane's I own have any saddle misalignment.

I do have Top Flite, Hangar 9, VQ and assorted other brands as well as the ESM.
