Don't target the starter as faulty right from the start. Many starters have been replaced without fixing the problem. Start with the battery. Do a load test. Then there is the ignition switch, wiring, relays, fuses and dirty connections. Make sure your mechanic is good with automotive electrical systems. A direct connection to the starter can easily eliminate it or identify it as the problem.
