Pete- I still have about 60-70 AM or AM/FM tube radios....that's valve radios for you. I was restoring them slowly. I stopped after many hours on a particularly nice AM radio that I dropped and everything shattered. I'll go back to it one day after I finish up a Ultra Sport 60 and a 4*20 that are both about half built. I have a lot of new radios that were kept in near mint condition and work well. For broadcast FM radio now I use SDRs (software defined radios) and use 2 FM antennas stacked one above the other in the attic to multiply the gain. I am getting CD quality music in Atlanta which is about 80 miles away, and the beach FM stations on the Gulf of Mexico beaches. Just another hobby that is a money pit like r/c planes.
I don't know much about radios and gain etc but music from down south is easy to listen to.Who's this dang fool above(capt)claiming good saito prop figures with what clearly looks like an apc?
