But then you have a 25% weight penalty, 40-50% more fuel consumption and a larger footprint that would be harder to shoehorn into a limited space.
The only good reason I could see for going to an FA-220 is the opportunity to soup one up. Should be able to top 4.5 HP with a CDI high compression 220 burning methanol and improve fuel economy to boot..
