I have a saito 220 with CDI and run it with methanol.
They are the best I have done with that engine.
Strong like bear, propellers 18x10, 20x8 are no problem.
No oil drafted from exhaust gases and low consumption.
so they can I highly recommend mounting CDI.
But it may be harder to get the engine running at low temperatures

One of the only down sides of CDI methanol. I don't fly when it's that cold, but I have had issues in my semi heated shop in the winter. A little heat on the carburetor/intake manifold does the trick though.Once the engine is warmed up, all is good.
