HI Rod, Hope I'm not butting in on your thread, though guess it's all related. Mike S tried an OS #5 glow plug in his Webra35 petrol 2-stroke. Ran very well with the plug powered up, but dropped revs significantly when we took the power off and then had a slow throttle response. It was a little better on higher octane and maybe Av-gas might improve, but the electronic ignition still seems best.
The good news is we finished and ran up the DLE 35RA in the new Matrix conversion at the "Shed" today. Weight ready to fly with a 2100 LIfe battery was a stunning 4.560 grams. I think it's the first plane ever that I've helped build that's come out a pound under the target weight !! It was one of Ewan's latest molded fuselages with kevlar in the laminate. I doubt that we will need a pipe, though some experimenting with larger lower pitch props might be on the menu.
I think your colour scheme looks great, trust we'll see it at Galloway Farm or the Nats. Regards, Barrie.
