No disrespect. I do own one as well, and agree that no matter how you do it fitting into a BD-5 if your taller than 6 foot is a tight fit. However it can be done, even in a non-stretched fuse. Debbie Gray wrote an article for Air & Space magazine and said "
I showed up in Newton because Bishop and Fornof said there might be a job for a wingman if I had time to hang out. I had just finished a year and a half in Canada as a pilot on the four-Pitts Carling Aerobatic Team when Bishop called me to replace their number three pilot, Ed Mahler. The little jet is slippery and sensitive, and the six-foot-four Mahler found it awkward in formation." Also the former Canadian pro football player Scott Manning flew a BD-5J he built in airshows and he was over 6 foot tall as well. (I had to leave out links to the Air & Space article and Scott Manning's Wikipedia
page until I get to 10 posts)
