If the battery has sat unused it may be false -peaking and may need to be charged a few times , or it may be a bad battery.

When you turn-on the ESC, what color is the led on it (next to the button) and is the led solid or flashing?

If the led is on solid, what happens to the led when you pull the trigger, release it to neutral and then push it forward?

Depending on the answers to these questions there are a few things to try.
The battery is good. The ESC at first is solid green, and I do the reset thing with pulling the trigger then it sets solid RED. When I pull the trigger it flashes whenever its engaged and returns to solid RED. I tested the receiver by swapping the plugs, Steering and throttle and I'll get response from the steering (pulling the trigger) but not getting throttle (turning the knob). I used a volt meter on the battery and getting around 9, getting power to the motor through the ESC with the volt meter. I checked the throttle plug with the meter and I'm getting around 6 volts when I pull the trigger, not sure if that has something to do with it but I tried it. I checked the motor to make sure it wasn't locked up or seized, as a matter of fact I bought a new one and still same issue. With the ESC light, i believe it reacts the way it does when it was working. I'm up to try anything, just need a little guidance of where to go from here. I appreciate the reply.
