I have flown at the Club in question, back when they had a benefit for their President that accidently hit himself with his plane. Everyone that I met was very compassionate for him and would probably extend that helpful, wellbeing to anyone of their other members. I asked a friend of 10+ years that flies at this field and Club in question about this incidence. Here is his quote of the OP: "That is our club. I vaguely recall the incident. The guy was a bit of an ass. Someone was kidding when they said he had to join to watch. Guess he didn't take it that way. We do have some guys who don't want to join, but want to fly. Hazards of the tourist season. OFMC is also cracking down on guests. " This is an on going issue here in Florida and any other tourist state. I have been a Secretary for Club's here in Florida, and other BOD positions dealing with out of state visitors and guest. The arrogance of the Snowbirds that come to Florida and think that they are owed the right to fly at any field in Florida without joining, or any other tourist state, is an on going issue. I get that they are "on vacation or here for the winter", but they need to join the Clubs that they are regular at to help pay to "keep the lights on". Some of the Clubs that I have belong to, even have had temporary memberships for a week or two to keep everything legit. I myself have belong to 4 different Clubs per year, just to have the options to fly at other fields with friends so that it doesn't create an issue for the person that I am flying with that day. We, those of us that live here year around, are tired of them coming down to boss those of us that live and fly here year around. We have NO issues at our my home Club when the Snowbirds aren't in town. But last year a Snowbird ruined our flying site airspace by constantly going out of bounds and buzzing city workers. Now we are more limited on airspace during the week, and he is still allowed to fly this year at our field. All summer of the past years that I have been at my home Club, we never have an issue with our neighbors, including the city workers near by and homes that are encroaching on our field. We have Snowbirds that are only here for a couple weeks to 3-4 months and try to boss those of us that are here all year and create political nightmare for our Officers to smooth things over after they leave. Then, they flock back to the North leaving those of us here to clean up the mess with the neighbors so that we don't' loose the field. Some of you are sooo anti AMA, why don't you get out from behind the computer of constantly bashing the AMA management and go work for the AMA to see if you can cure everything you are pointing out as the issues.
