Interesting that this thread is still got some life in it after being started in 2010.
I took my ME Heron out of my Tomboy Free Flight model a few month ago. After cleaning I noticed that the nylon tank had indeed split along the seam.
Might try a Delrin one next.
As for the cylinder gasket problem, an old friend showed me a trick awhile ago. Rather than cutting a paper gasket, clean the flange and give it successive coats of automotive engine gasket goo, leaving a day or so between coats so that it dries thoroughly. Worked very well with on a Taipan mk13 "blackhead" diesel.
