I have used micro glass (18 gram/meter) with epoxy many times, but after using the silk with sanding siller (10 gram/meter) I will never go back to the micro glass!!!
The weaving of the silk is much denser so you do not have to use so much material to fill the holes in the fabric.
Sanding the sanding siller is easier than sanding the epoxy, and if you sand too much and go through the fabric; with the micro glass and the epoxy it is very difficult to fix that, but with the silk you even don't fill it, maybe because the balsa and the silk are both organic materials.
