They are re-styled MDS engines, as were the RMX line sold by RipMax in the UK.
The carb shown is almost certainly non EOM supplied. It is a Webra slide carb. Probably why it was so hard to remeove. It's neck was not the correct 'drop in' size to fit in place of the original MDS carb.
