If you are concerned about you motor getting too hot, fit a cooling ring over it, (heat sink) you can buy them in any size to fit you motor. EDFs usually work bit hotter than prop planes due to the latter direct air flow over them, from my experience. But, then again, it all depends on the individual set up.
