Jason, most likely the tip Dave gave, will be the reason for the lock up. I had this with more jets. You could check if the wheel can be rotated in retracted position. It can be corrected by making either more room in the wheel well OR (the easiest way) is to install a few washers around the screws under the inner part of the mounting flanges, so that it rises a bit and lifts the wheel a few mm in retracted position. The resulting not-90 degree position of the legs when extended, will be hardly noticeable and will improve even ground handling a bit.
If that works OK, one can make plywood wedges (or metal if You have the ability to work with machinery) so You'll get an even load spread under the flanges.
EDIT: If I remember correctly the wheel bay is quite close to the upper side of the wing, so opening the bay with a Dremel You have to be careful not to go in too deep.
