The issue with that is that it may make the plane tail heavy. You have to remember, the full sized plane had the short nose due to the weight of the P&W R-2800, an engine that was far from lite. Come to think about it, all the fighters that used the 2800 had them mounted fairly close to the leading edge of the wings. The Corsair was no different, other than the fact the cockpit was located further back, giving the impression of a long nose
