I've been flying about a year now and am in Ducted fan. If you want to get into ducted fans relitively cheaply, try the Hotbodies A7 Corsair. It's a dream to fly. Not overly fast, glides well, a lot of similarites to a trainer.
I'll tell you honestly, I am now trying to find ways of making it faster, as sometimes it seems to "float around" I took a video of it's maiden flight which took place yesterday. Email me if you want me to send it to you.
