I am running 5.9V with no dimness issues...I believe the GSU actually shows 5.7 - 5.8. This is through a powerbox Royal.

On my Spektrum RX stuff I am running straight 6.6V to GSU and dont notice it being any brighter. Again the GSU shows 6.2 - 6.4 V
