to add,....you can get blades even smaller than 1/4 inch wide as well. there are 1/8 in wide blades available from places like Rockler, Smc and other online suppliers that sell bandsaw blades. ( I have yet to see an 1/8 inch blade at a big box store, but I would suppose they could order one for a guy) I have a couple of them and they turn my 14 in bandsaw into a half way decent scroll saw. I use them when cutting gears for the wooden clock movements I occasionally make.
