That one didn't work either.
What helped me out in learning how to use a stick radio was to use it to control one of my boats. Since I was only dealing with two channels, throttle and ailerons, it helped me to learn to not overcontrol the boat. The nice part is that I didn't have to worry about the boat crashing since it wouldn't do much more than barrel roll of flip, making the damage minimal and repairs quick.
