Just some thoughts that I would be considering at your stage:

Given that this is in the RC Jets forum, I assume you are looking at using the AR7000 in a jet. If I was even beginning to suspect the TXer's modules, at this point, I would not use them with any plane that I valued w/o checking the RF output. If this was me, unless I had access to RF Test gear, I would be sending the module and transmitter back in for service and testing. But I am not sure where you would send a JR for service, and I would bet the service provider is not free like Spektrum is typically for their transmitters. A new DX9 is not that expensive. It certainly is a lot cheaper than losing a jet, and it brings you up to current technology.

When I look at another brand, I consider how much their Rxers are. In my case, to change brands, I would have several times more than the cost of the Txer in new receivers. In other cases, the Txers are just outrageously priced to start with! So I don't even consider switching brands. Also, I have never had a Spektrum Txer of Rxer failure either. Knock on wood!

In most cases a DX9 is all most pilots need. But, if I was looking at eventually using more than 9 channels, then I would have to jump up to a DX 20 or some other brand. At the very least, a DX Txer does not depend on a module and its connections and conversion program to be successful. I had a friend who claims to have lost a jet due to an intermittent JR module connection. Also, a lot of the new stuff is coming out with 11ms frame rates. Does that JR Module support an 11ms frame rate? Lots of benefits to staying reasonably within current technology. Just don't buy the first production run of any brand, unless you are willing to be the "beta tester." Also got to watch out for products where they are constantly up grading their program and/or hardware. They do that for a reason (e.g. Fix their issues and get more $s from you.) If they are just adding new features to the program with software revisions, then that can be a good thing.

Just some things I would be considering at your stage of the game.
