Transmitter and receiver technology are rapidly evolving, the DX-18 and 20 both served as high-end radios with voice, telemetry and forward programming to commodate Spektrums newest RX line and AS3000 gyro. Both of these transmitters have simply reached the end of their life cycles, the gap in a "high end" radio was taken into consideration. I can tell you if you decide to purchase a DX18 or 20 on the used market, Horizon Hobby will always stand behind it and offer parts and service for many years to come.
