I was doing some simple checking of CG balance while still in the early stages of this model. The engine I chose is much heavier than the suggested engines.
The suggested engines are 20-30cc and looking online I see the 30cc have an average weight of about 2.5 lbs. The radial I have mounted weighs 6.2 lbs. I am going to have to add counterweight towards the rear of the plane.
I believe that the amount of weight necessary will depend on the distance from the CG point. The further back I can mount it, the less weight will be required. This is going to pose a problem for me, I can already sense that.
Well, it will have to be figured out, and a method to attach some weight devised.
