Hi All
I have found a nose ring that was actually in the original purchase parts and have fitted it to the from of the 170 - I see in the images above from Claude that the nose ring is connected to the cowl via ply ring glued to the cowl. i can do the same thing, but I am wondering if the cowl would crack under this constant vibration form the engine?. I have fabricated a ply ring to glue to my cowl, but stopped when I considered that the cowl is only fiberglass and not well suited to absorb vibrations - are these cowls holding up?

thanks - I am kind of stuck at the moment until I get this resolved, although my alternative is to not have a nose ring in the setup
