Yes. That’s the problem. But I don’t think it’s too much, just not getting ignited at the proper time. For some reason I’m thinking that the timing is off. But every thing I’ve read points to the timing set at 30 BTDC. That is exactly where it’s timed. But, if you read the manual for the engine, it states at initial start, it should be at 4 degrees then advance to 30. Everyone says that the electronic ignition will take care of that. But my biggest issue that I fail to understand is this..... if I’m setting the ignition at 30 on the bench, at what point does it retard the spark in order to start???
