I had my 43,000 mile old VW Up! serviced last week, £334. They contacted me within 4 hours of dropping it off to say it was done, so how long did they work on it? A couple at most, its only got three cylinders and rear drum brakes and they didn't replace any of those bits!. I've just sent the 33 hour (never serviced) 9 year only JetCat from my Vampire and I expect the bill to be less.

Anyway, JetCat do struggle in Germany with service times, they are the worlds most sold turbine. Times vary with the time of year, during the summer when everyone wants to fly, the service times come down as they don't get as much service work-But they do get more crash repairs (take longer to do the work) as people are flying more. After JetPower each year is positively the worst time to send a turbine as they get over 100 turbines delivered by modellers who want to save money (and risk) on shipping and are coming to the end of their flying season. For most the longer time is not a huge problem, as they don't expect to fly until next season.
Things were improving last year, but legislation changes this year have made everything more difficult for a German company and I admit that my customers have had to wait even longer than normal, but they do. They chose JetCat turbines for a reason, I communicate with my customers and advise on good times to get things serviced. I shipped at great cost some turbines a few days before JP this year, as I knew they would be further up the list and the guys wanted to keep flying. Some of those are back already.

At the end of the day and no disrespect to chrigui, he can't possibly do as good a job as the factory. They have state of the art equipment, have a balance procedure that i'm pretty certain is unique and a 100% detailed knowledge of THEIR product. The P-20 particularly is a fussy little bugger that requires way more labour time to assemble each time, the fits and tolerances in a 245,000 rpm turbine will and do affect the way they run.

The JetCat Germany guys are modellers, fly these products. They do a fabulous job in my mind, they do everything they can, understand the requirements of modellers and the need to do everything as fast as possible. Staff have to have holidays, members of the team were in China at the JWM supporting the JetCat users, this all takes time and there are only 24hrs in every day-I know as I work seven days a week trying to deal with all my impatient customers needs.

To answer the question, they are working through turbines as fast as possible, but yes there is a relatively long wait still. I think its worth it.
