The intial advice of a 10 X 6 is good advice, and that's where I'd suggest you start, but going to a 10 X 8 will only make take off performance worse, not better. If the plane seems to be sluggish taking off or climbing, increase the diameter, and decrease the pitch. ie. Go to an 11 X 5 or 11 X 4. If you want higher top speed try a 10 X 8.
