While such metal laminates could be useful in fabricating certain details on a model, the thickness of the metal is almost equal to the one used on the full size aircraft. If you haven't been around full size airplanes, you might be really surprised at how thin the aluminum skin on an aircraft really is. If you're inclined to do so, you can do a huge amount of damage to an aircraft skin with just your bare hands, but then you also have to remember that some planes have only fabric for a skin. Also, the aluminum used in laminates incorporates some form of a decorative finish that is virtually never to be found on any aircraft, but you are paying for that finish when you're buying an aluminum sheet this way. Still, laminates shouldn't be disregarded as a possible raw material in the countless situations one encounters building a model of any type.
