Default Interesting Tiger I on the b....

There's an interesting 1/10 Tiger I on ebay. The seller says it's a Seiki Tiger I and the body and running gear certainly are as are the power and
steering mechanics. It looks like some sort of hybrid or cross between what I've seen as an electric powered version and a glow powered version.
The gearbox doesn't look like any of those in my original gas powered Seiki Tigers so I'm thinking an electric that was converted or simply an early or
late version I'm just not familiar with. I first got one in 1979 which was a few years old and later I purchased 2 more and then about 8 that I sold when I
had my business in the 1980s. All of them were gas and they all looked very similar to my first except for minor differences in the body details and the
improved version of the transmission/ gearbox which was changed from a friction cone brake system for steering control to actual disk brakes.

This for sale one is rather a mess inside, appears to have been cleaned of paint and even most of the rudimentary stowage details standard at the time.
There seems to have been some mischief done to the inner left side but overall just needs a good cleaning and refresh. Seiki made a really good runner
and were always really reliable; the original gas versions had an outsized sirocco fan for cooling the engine that was very efficient; this one does not. I cannot see how the engine is cooled other than it's equipped with a helicopter type head- not so good in a tank. Still if someone could approach the seller for a lower price it is still a worthy model if one has an interest in 1/10 scale. A lot may be done with these.
